Our Story

Marcella’s is more than just a little shop—it’s a piece of my heart and a reflection of the creative life I’ve always loved.

I’ve been crafting, creating, and reinventing things most of my adult life. It started in my barn workshop at Horsefeathers Farm, about an hour south of Kansas City. Back then, I was building birdhouses from old trim wood, sewing with scraps, and finding ways to bring beauty into everyday living. I never imagined it would lead here.

My son Jordan discovered his own talent for woodworking and started Vintage Makes. When we stumbled across this building in downtown Belton, we both looked at each other and said the same thing: it’s a blank canvas. So we rolled up our sleeves, started renovating, and turned it into what is now Marcella’s.

You’ll often find me around the shop tinkering with a new project—stitching together fabric napkins, arranging little faux floral bundles, painting boxes, or playing in the garden outside. The back patio has become my sanctuary. I don’t sit still for long—I love staying busy with my hands and seeing where inspiration leads.

This place is rooted in the idea that handmade, thoughtful things still matter. We’re proud to showcase local artisans, creatives, and makers. I love to carry goods that are original works, crafted with care and intention.

Our hope is to contribute to the beautiful little renaissance happening in Old Town Belton—turning it into a destination where creativity, shopping, and community come together.

We’re so glad you found your way here. Whether you’re shopping, visiting, or just curious, you’re always welcome.

Sincerely,

Janice
